Identity Management Day is a brand new annual awareness event that was created by the National Cybersecurity Alliance and the Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA).

The purpose is to bring awareness about properly securing identities and access credentials within your business. A report sponsored by the IDSA shows that 94% of organizations have experienced an identity-related breach, and 99% believe that these identity-related breaches were preventable.

The most common cause of identity-related breaches are phishing attacks, which are responsible for 66% of reported breaches within the last two years. The other causes being “stolen credentials (32%), inadequately managed privileges (28%), brute force attacks (24%), social engineered passwords (23%), and more.”1

Some of the best ways to prevent these attacks include security awareness training, internal policies, and having proper cybersecurity programs deployed throughout your organization.

Luckily, NET Xperts has programs to help detect phishing attacks, train your users on what these attacks look like, as well as other cybersecurity programs to alert and prevent your organization from these breaches. Give us a call today at 412-244-NETX (6389) for more information.
